Resistance

Resistance in the wire

Resistance on the streets

In the people’s faces

Resistance red and black

Some are guilty

Some are ashamed

Some are envious

Others jealous

All are in two minds

Resistance in the rocks the trees

Resistance in bricks in buildings

Despairing poets tear up their works

Trains derail all too easily

White fever dream

Stare through walls

Faces blank

Bodies listless

Cut-throat lovers

Besotted with their quarrel

Resistance the suicide

Resistance the homicide

Outbreak of plague

Outbreak of war

Resistance the Michelangelo

Resistance the Newton
